Whether you need immediate guidance with a long-term move, are exploring retirement options for the future, or want support with safely aging in place at home, our team is here to help. We provide clarity, guidance, and support at no cost to families.
Every Benchmark team member is a Certified Dementia Practitioner, and we also have an Aging in Place Specialist available to help families who wish to remain safely in the home setting.
We partner with licensed independent living, assisted living, memory care, private healthcare, and long-term care communities throughout Richmond, Charlottesville, Williamsburg, and Hampton Roads, Virginia.

#1 Determine your needs
Let's discuss your unique situation by phone or through an in-person consultation. Our team will take the time to understand your needs and preferences, then develop personalized recommendations based on factors such as:

#2 Educate, Recommend & Tour
Once we identify the communities most likely to meet your needs, we simplify the entire process for you.
Our team will coordinate and schedule community tours, assist with communication between you and prospective communities, and accompany you on tours whenever possible. As licensed healthcare professionals, we serve as your advocate throughout the process—helping you evaluate care options, understand community differences, and ensure all of your questions are answered.
We ask important clinical, lifestyle, and financial questions that families may not know to ask, providing a deeper level of insight into each option being considered. Following tours, we help you compare communities objectively so you can make an informed decision with confidence.
Once a community has been selected, we assist with the admission process and required paperwork, helping make the transition as smooth and stress-free as possible.
#3 Continual Support & Follow-Up
We believe successful transitions require ongoing support, which is why we continue to check in with residents and families after move-in.
Because our team regularly visits the communities we recommend, we're often able to stop by, say hello, and ensure things are going smoothly. Our goal is to help make every transition as stress-free as possible while continuing to serve as a trusted resource and advocate for our clients.

When you reach out to us, you will speak with someone who is local, not across the country. We can meet in person, tour communities with you, and visit you or your loved one after you have moved. We visit senior living communities on a regular basis in the area and can advise you on options that will meet your overall preferences and needs.

Our team is comprised of licensed healthcare professionals with a combined 70+ years of clinical and operational experience in the senior living industry throughout Virginia. With our background and knowledge, we can quickly lead you to appropriate settings that will not only match pricing/geographic expectations, but also with function in mind and maintaining independence.

Dementia Resource/ Aging in Place Consultations
Our licensed Occupational Therapist and Aging in Place specialist can assist with aging in place consultations. Initial consultations are at no cost, in depth assessments do have costs associated.
Dementia education, resources, and caregiver training can be provided to families as needed.
